A. Because the app is built using browser-based technology it is as simple as visiting the ATI app web address, then choosing to “add to homescreen”. A visual walkthrough can be found here, https://www.atimartialarts.com.au/ati-mobile-app.
A. We get it. We like these app stores as well… The truth is they have been doing a good job of delivering and distributing our old app for over 6 years, with mostly good results. However over the last few years, various Developer policy changes and other usage guidelines/terms-of-use changes have made it increasingly problematic for us to maintain the app on these platforms. Notwithstanding, we also feel as though the newer Progressive Web App technology is the future of mobile apps such as ours. A. The old ATI App was built on a platform that utilises the native functions of a smartphone. The new app is built on a new browser-based technology. This technology is cutting-edge and growing but unfortunately currently there are some restrictions with how deep it can incorporate with the native functions of a smartphone. This may be one of the reasons why some features of the old app aren’t replicated in the new. Other reasons may be that we have simply chosen not to include that particular feature. Over time we will be adding to and improving the ATI app where we can, and where this technology will allow. It does remain however, that most of the features and functions of the old app are included in the new app.
A. Yep, we know all about these and we’re on it. There are a few small coding issues that are causing some small weird graphical behaviours. You might notice that the menu text sometimes changes size/colour/spacing. Also some graphical elements overlay the menu when scrolling. These items will be fixed in time. They are visual only and don’t affect the performance or features of the app at all.
A. This is one of the great advantages of the newer progressive web apps. Because they are served via browser technology, it means that the latest version of the app is always available. To reload the app (and thus load the latest content) simply close the ATI app and then reopen.
A. With older iPhones, simply press the home button twice in quick succession. Then find the ATI app and swipe up. To reopen, simply tap on the ATI app icon.
With newer iPhone, at the Homescreen of the iPhone, or while in the app, swipe up from the bottom of the display and hold. When the App Switcher shows, find the ATI app and swipe up to close. Tap on the ATI app icon to reopen.
With Android phones, tap the Recent Apps button (to the left of the home button), scroll until you find the ATI app, then tap and drag up. To reopen, tap on the ATI app icon. Also you can tap the top of screen and drag down while inside the ATI app to force reload.
