ATI Martial Arts Perth has more than 30 years of experience in martial arts instruction. With four full-time schools and 14 satellite branches throughout the Perth Metro Area, as well as in Broome and the Sunshine Coast, we are one of the biggest martial arts businesses in the country.
Founded by Mr Tony Curtis (7th Dan) and Mr Rodney Lockyer (7th Dan), ATI Martial Arts Perth now has a dedicated staff of more than 30, including many international medalists and high-level competitors. All our instructors are graduates of the ATI Martial Arts Certification Program.
A big focus in our Perth martial arts school is the safety and training of children. We specifically deal with child anti abduction skills, "Stranger Danger", and training children to be aware of danger as well as avoidance techniques to help them to protect themselves.
In fact, Child Abduction and Stranger Danger is a very important focus of our training and is one of the most crucial skills we pass on to our junior members.
On so many levels, for parents looking for a great Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing and Kickboxing school to provide martial arts instruction in Perth we thoroughly believe that there is no need to look further...

ATI Martial Arts provide life long development for people from all stages of life. In the case of Hadley Rachbind who began martial arts with ATI in our Little Dragon's program has gone onto competing nationally, representing Australian internationally and working part time as an instructor inspiring others just like he was as a kid.
Another example of how the community at ATI bring out the best in their students.

How long should children do martial arts for?
ATI believe martial arts training develops more than the physical attributes of self defence strategies, body strength and skillful techniques. Rather the character development and belonging to a community with so many positive influences are the REAL benefits.
In the case of this unqiue individual, Amberley Granville has been training at ATI Joondalup for half of her life! 8 years and still goinig strong Amberley is not only a super friendly and well mannered young lady but has skills to match!
The journey began wanting to try "something new"..... along the way earning a 3rd Dan Black belt in Taekwondo in September 2017, then changing over to Kickboxing in January 2018 Amberley is hoping to achieve her 2nd Dan Black in December.
She did her first sparring competition in 2013, then continued on with Poomsae in the club comps until 2016. Amberley was also a SAS member from 2013 until 2017.
Amberley continues to train as she enjoys the exercise.

I enrolled my 3.5yr old twin girls & 4.5yr old son in the Little Dragons programme at ATI Joondalup & couldn’t be happier. The instructors are amazing with the little ones so patient, encouraging & nurturing (with what can be such a challenging age group) & you get fantastically qualified & experienced teachers in every class every time. The girls were shy & had a typical 3yr old attention span 3 months in they passed grading & had themselves their… Read more “I would thoroughly recommend ATI to any family”
I enrolled my twin boys in the Little Dragons programme about 3 years ago and they absolutely loved it – so much so, that they convinced myself and my husband that we should sign up too.
My husband joined kickboxing and I signed up for traditional. My husband had to drop out but me and the lads are still there 3 times a week every week!
I love the fact that it is open 6 days a week… Read more “It has helped me to lose weight and get fit and in shape”
I enrolled my daughter as a 4 year old in little dragons in ATI Joondalup. With the expert instructors ATI have she progressed through her gradings and was asked to join the elite sports team after her sparring at one of the twice yearly competitions. She was only 5!! She is now a black belt at junior taekwondo and has been training for 5 years. My boy is now a little dragon and loves it. I could not recommend ATI… Read more “enables discipline, exercise, routines and fun”
Enrolled my daughter in a private class as she was still a little under the age for group classes (with the aim of transitioning to a class).
The staff at Joondalup have been amazing.
Always say hello with a smile and focus on the child’s development.
Definitely a very patient group of people.
Thank you to everyone there esp Callum Shahidi.
Dear coaches, assistant coaches and staff: Your assistance with Tulsa and myself during the tournament on the weekend was much appreciated . The high level of professionalism shown reflected the calibre of the coaching staff. For a mum with a young fighter the support and organization was great. The coaching given to Tulsa was exceptional. He has come away from the experience not defeated for not having won a medal but with the knowledge that he did his best. He… Read more “doing a wonderful job keeping the children motivated”
My kid loves ATI martial arts class, he learns self defense and gains much more confidence during his lessons. Thanks to all the teachers and staff, they are responsible and very helpful!
I have been training at ATI for 8 years now, the club has helped me achieve goals in Taekwondo, Korean Kickboxing as well as their Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. All classes provide valuable life lessons and the talented and friendly training partners, I now call friends all add to what makes each session as enjoyable as it is rewarding to train in. Very proud to be part of the ATI Family.
Dear instructors Just a quick note to say a big thank you for the hard work and dedication you have all put into the ICP program. Having finally committed to doing this program, I have discovered a whole new journey which has only just begun. I am now enjoying Taekwondo even more than before. For the first time, I can now say that I understand the way in which you instruct and the reasons for the lessons taught in class.… Read more “it is a privilege to be part of this unique school”
To ATI Joondalup I wanted to thank you for Odyn’s party today. He and his friends had so much fun, and we have wonderful memories of his 6th birthday celebration. The party was set up really well, and managed beautifully, even with 17 kids running around the instructors took great control and kept them busy! They were sweating and exhausted at the end of the party. I think the highlight for us was the board breaking. I know it will… Read more “He and his friends had so much fun”
I have been at ATI coming up to 2 years now after transitioning from the TAGB in the UK. Maybe its not the best thing to admit, but I certainly take the diversity of the club for granted. There is always a different coach to learn from of which I value every time i take a bit of advice or learn a new skill. Something for every skill set and level.
ATI Martial Arts are fantastic. Our kids have grown in confidence, concentration and are more positive in school work Thanks to the Team at ATI Martial Arts.
